OUR OWNERS
VIC FERNALD
Born in 1970, I grew up in rural Maine, where life was about exploring the woods, fishing, and making memories with friends. Those early days instilled in me a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the simple joys of life.
After high school, I attended culinary arts school to hone my skills in cooking—a passion that’s always been about bringing people together through good food. But my journey took a pivotal turn in 1991 when I joined the United States Marine Corps. Serving during the first Gulf War, I was stationed at Camp Lejeune with the 2nd Surveillance Reconnaissance Intelligence Group before deploying overseas with Headquarters and Service Battalion, 3rd Marine Division. My time in the Marines shaped my values of discipline, perseverance, and a steadfast commitment to duty.
After leaving the military, I spent years working in civilian life before meeting my incredible wife. Together, we decided to create Forge of Liberty—a clothing brand that represents more than just apparel. Forge of Liberty is about a lifestyle: a celebration of freedom, resilience, and pride in this great country of ours.
Through our designs, we aim to honor the spirit of liberty and those who defend it, crafting apparel that resonates with patriots and those who cherish American values. We’re proud to share this journey with you, and we hope our products inspire the same pride and passion that fuel everything we do.

Laura Davenport
Born and raised in Kinston, NC, I grew up with a love for sports and a deep appreciation for community values. My passion for athletics led me to compete at both the high school and college levels, and my drive to make a difference in the lives of others inspired me to pursue a degree in Recreation Therapy from East Carolina University.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in long-term care, rehabilitation, local government, and now proudly serve in North Carolina state government. These experiences have deepened my understanding of resilience, teamwork, and the importance of building strong communities—values that align perfectly with what Forge of Liberty stands for.
At home, I’m a proud mom to two amazing sons and three lovable dogs—Brooklyn, Stormi, and Marco. Together with my fiancé, I co-founded Forge of Liberty as a way to honor the principles of freedom, courage, and unity that define our great nation. This brand is more than apparel; it’s a celebration of patriotism and a lifestyle rooted in pride for the values we hold dear.
